This week I had the opportunity to collaborate with Foray Collective, sharing a look on their site & talking a bit about it for their Summer Snapchat Series. I’ve done a solid amount of collaborations with brands at this point, but this one got a little tangled along the way with some shooting & delivery mishaps, scheduling & rescheduling, etc. Not to mention, if you aren’t a Snapchat regular (I didn’t know how to throw a filter on until the night before) it’s a super intimidating platform. The fact that everything is raw footage and nothing can be glossed over definitely made me more than a little bit nervous.
All that aside, this shoot turned out to be one of my favourites from this summer. The lighting was perfect, it wasn’t super hot out, and Porter and I were carrying on regular conversations of what we’d done that day and so on, so it felt more like just hanging out than shooting branded photos. It was a quick lesson in breathing easy, enjoying the process, and not letting pressure build into taking yourself too seriously.
Foray Collective is an extremely useful website if you use Instagram for style inspo because it allows you to look up your favourite instagrammers and gives direct links to whatever they’re wearing. It’s helped me discover boatloads of new brands and, simultaneously, new accounts to follow.
Hope you enjoy the pics!
